But ahead of Friday’s official weigh-in, where both must weigh 171lbs or less, the Portmarnock ace delivered a pizza to his opponent’s room while he was cutting weight.

Garry shared the teasing video on social media as he knocked on Rodriguez hotel room door and ran off, but the former Cage Warriors champion had placed a secret camera to see the reaction.

D-Rod’s teammate Sasha Palatnikov opened the door and picked up the pizza with a bemused look on his face before looking left and right as he strolled out of the room.

He then headed down the hallway of the hotel to presumably dispose of the pizza.

Daniel Rodriguez initially missed weight the next day by 0.5lbs as he weighed-in at 171.5 for his welterweight bout.

Garry weighed in late during the window, he was on point at 170.5.

BUT Rodriguez took advantage of the additional time and made 170lbs on his second attempt.

The bout will be on the main card at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The rising Irish mma star won his fourth-straight UFC bout against Kenan Song in March at UFC 285 to maintain his perfect professional record.

Speaking exclusively to SunSport yesterday, Garry says he’ll run through D-Rod in Saturday night’s main card clash.

Rodriguez is coming off a loss to Neil Magny but the American won 7 of his 9 outings with the Dana White run promotion, and has beaten some solid opposition in the 170lbs division.

He saw off Li Jingliang, Kevin Lee, Mike Perry and Preston Parson’s before a loss to Neil Magny at ‘UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos’ last November.

But the Irishman reckons the American fighter is one-dimensional, and says he doesn’t see D-Rod as a step up in competition.

Speaking exclusively to SUNSPORT from a stunning Air BnB in South Carolina, the 25-year-old said: “I don’t think he does.

“He’s bog-standard, mate. I think he’s a very, very simple opponent. He’s a boxer in MMA, he’s a fairly decent jab that he uses to set up a left-hand that he overreaches and extends on”

You can watch the fight card live on BT Sport 2 from the earlier time of 6pm.
